A smart, witty teen comedy with plenty of charm & reminded me of similar comedies of the 80's like Ferris Bueller's Day Off & The Breakfast Club & more recently Juno. The film essentially looks at life in High School & the quest for popularity & how the rumour mill works amongst the digital generation.
Emma Stone plays Olive, a girl who nobody knows, who starts a rumour to gain popularity by telling a little white lie about losing her virginity. Sadly things snow ball & things get out of control as she tells lie after lie to raise her social standing & help other students advance theirs.
