Review of Easy (2014) by Curtis W — 01 May 2004
A romantic comedy that starts out strong but runs out of steam is about an upper-middle class gal in LA who comes up with product names for a living. She has tons of friends around her who throw cool parties all the time. Yet she can't find a decent guy.
She has a fling with a former poetry professor who's on the rebound. He can't get his act together. Meanwhile, she meets an Irish comedian with a TV show and strikes up a friendship with him. They finally get it together but it happens sloppily and without satisfaction. She just can't get her shit together. Actually, the relations between all her friends are kind of sick in a borderline incestual sort of way, as they all just seem to feed on one another.
I kind of just enjoyed the girl while she was being funny and coming up with product names. Her character had the same droll sense of black humour that I could see Janeanne Garofolo playing that part. She might've been better.
