Review of Eastern Promises (2007) by Bobby M — 01 Aug 2012
Although you may see more of Viggo Mortensen's body than you might want to, you also see more of his soul than in most of his movies. The storyline of this movie almost seemed like a vehicle to carry the character interactions and development forward.
The more I think back on it, the more I like it. I heard it through the grapevine that Cronenberg is planning a sequel. I hope he does it and does justice to the original. His work with Mortensen (most recently A Dangerous Method) has produced some outstanding works of cinema.
