Review of Eastern Promises (2007) by Stephen P — 11 Jun 2012
One of the most beautiful soundtracks ever written, the marriage of the violin and the cimbalom captures that unique Russian trait with music that can be simultaneously romantic and heart-wrenchingly tragic - I was lucky enough to hear some of the soundtrack preformed live at a concert presented by Mark Kermode which lead me to watching this film.
"Accents are as thick as borscht, and vodka flows almost as freely as the blood.".
