Review of Eastern Promises (2007) by Angel J — 09 Dec 2010
A grade A+ performance by both Vincent Cassel and Viggo Mortensen. These two really delivered a classical performance and carried the weight of the film with such class and true involvement in their character.
The story is very concrete and very touching as well with the tragic tale of a Ukrainian girl moving to a different country for better but got worse. A very dark vibe and intriguing thriller that took raw violence into a brilliant piece of work that caught my attention.
The reality of the performances made me believe that all of the actors were Russian and fooled me many times. Overall, this film is a most watch for a suspenseful story and perfect acting from great actors.
