Review of Eastern Promises (2007) by Edgar C — 21 Dec 2010
The Canadian cult master agrees to stick with his more conventional, yet equally bold direction style. Every single aspect that could mature in A History of Violence is developed in this great London story. With a relentless plot and impressive performances, Eastern Promises promises and delivers (much more than the kickass, pre-climatic fight scene). Brutality and stillness collide with few flaws, but also with very satisfactory result.
77/100.
