Review of Eastern Condors (1987) by Kyle D — 10 Oct 2007
Way back in the 80's when I was a wee lad, I thought American "let's go back and win the war in vietnam" flicks like RAMBO, and MISSING IN ACTION were pretty cool. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, Sammo Hung made his own take on the genre EASTERN CONDORS, where messr.
Hung kills a dude by turning a palm leaf into a blowgun and Yuen Biao, strangles, skins and decapitates a live snake with his bare-hands in about 2 seconds without even looking at it. Also, no faceless commie rat form RAMBO was ever as cool asThe giggling General from this movie.
In retrospect, the 10 year old boy in me feels pretty gypped that I was denied access to a film like this. Thanks for nothing Chuck Norris.
