East Side Sushi had me at Kon'nichiwa--or should I say Kon'nichi-juana?
The story is warm and heartfelt, by turns funny and touching, and presents characters who feel fresh and real. It's a warmhearted tale of a woman with ambition, her loving family, and the male-dominated world of sushi chefs. This story of West meets East treats all its characters with affection and respect, never stooping to stereotypes or going for cheap laughs. It's funny and charming and I came away from it wanting to go out for sushi at that restaurant.
