Review of East of Eden (1955) by Mackenzie S — 04 Jun 2008
In all three of Dean's films, it seems he is always the anti-social protagonist. Even though he seemed to be typecasted, he does it so well. The performances in this film are fantastic. I heard an unknown Paul Newman was up for the role of Dean's brother but didn't get the part.
I thought this guy gave a great performance. Jo Van Fleet as Dean's estranged mother was amazing, she deserved her Oscar.
