Review of East of Eden (1955) by Mike T — 16 Jul 2007
I'm in awe. The combination of Elia Kazan's fierce direction and James Dean's formidable acting proved to be quite the force. This is a layered, painful and deeply troubling film that fully deserves its status as a classic.
The story is beautiful, but it's James Dean's landmark performance that struck me the hardest. Everyone should see this.
