Review of East of Eden (1955) by Lauren H — 05 Nov 2007
I honestly prefer James Dean's performance in this film than in Rebel Without a Cause. He tows the line between gentility and tortured youth beautifully. A complex adaptation of an even more complex novel (it only takes the second half of the novel into account, and then has to eliminate many characters and plotlines).
A beautiful film.
