Review of East of Eden (1955) by Richard M — 30 Nov 2009
James Dean's first film credit and it showed why many people thought he was going to be one of the greats. A wonderful and emotional performance from Dean caps off an all round fantastic ensemble of a cast directed brilliantly by Elia Kazan.
The cinematography is stunning and the camera work is truly amazing. At times, the out of sync dubbing can put you off but the hard-hitting storyline just brings you right back in.
