Review of East of Eden (1955) by Maria R — 30 Mar 2012
Surprisingly heavy and depressing, "east of eden" is fantastic in almost every way. it's a true 50's classic, with pretty experimental cinematography for it's time. yes, the plot of a rebellious young adult acting out because he's never felt his father's love and approval.
but this movie is written incredibly well, particularly the dialogue. "east of eden" is a must see for anyone who calls themselves a cinefile.
