Review of East of Eden (1955) by Elyas K — 03 Nov 2012
It's not very good if you read the book before hand. The book is about 600 pages, and it's an amazing book. Imagine some ridiculous script writer chopping off the first 400 pages and making a movie only about the last 200.
It's annoying. There is so much to this story, so many unanswered questions. The book was better than Gone With The Wind's story in my opinion, and if it had been made 3-4 hours long, I bet we'd have a really good movie.
It would've been on par with Gone With The Wind. I give this a 3 stars for it's effort and James Dean's performance. And overall, I just didn't enjoy the movie so much.
