Is it original? No. Earth to Echo is clearly a rip-off of The Goonies and E.T.. But just because a movie isn't overly original doesn't mean it can't still be good. Earth to Echo isn't going to become the classic that The Goonies or E.
T. are, but it still is a great coming-of-age family/sci-fi movie.
