Review of Earth to Echo (2014) by Ian G — 30 Nov 2014
Not that anything is specifically wrong with Earth to Echo, it just has an immensely familar premise and designs to existing films to warrant anything really new to be fully engaging or original. The basic premise totally bites ET in terms of a group of young tweens making contact with a little alien and attempt to get him back to his ship so he can return home.
Thats all you really need to know since the script is really that thin, and bites other films such as Super 8 for the climatic spaceship build, Goonies and any number of found footage concepts of just documenting as much as possible and seeing what sticks in their final cut film.
Even the little alien/robot harkens to the alien from batteries not included. Booooooring.
