Early Man I still enjoyed overall but unfortunately, this was still probably the biggest disappointment for me in 2018 in terms of film. The animation is on par with Aardman's best but unfortunately the story, dialogue, and even some of its humor is about 20-30 years behind, which is not a good thing to see in a very progressive decade for film.
Nick Park is an animation legend and personally I was expecting a lot more than what we had gotten. Early Man does have the Nick Park charm but overall might be the most generic and predictable movie that the studio has ever made.
The animation is stunning, some jokes may be lame but a number of them are quite clever and the characters, while not all the most complex or compelling are likable enough to route for them. What made me still like this film is in the execution and I'd say still check it out if your a fan of Aardman or Nick Park.
