Review of Eagle vs Shark (2007) by Thom M — 10 Dec 2008
A very easy going, short and funny film that makes you feel a little bit warm and fuzzy inside. The DVD cover says this is like "Napoleon Dynamite meets Murial's Wedding" and they are kinda right.
Jarrod (Eagle) being Napoleon and Lily (Shark) being Murial. However, the marriage works really well. It is hard to understand why Lily loves Jarrod so much as he really is a loser but I suppose from her initial infatuation she sees through his problems to the "not-so-much-of-a-loser" he is deep inside.
It has some quirky stop-animation bits and fantasy scenes that add to the characters stories a bit and some funny family members. I think Jarrod's family have possibly been watching a bit to much Little Britain though.
Highlights are Lily, her brother's impressions, candles and Jarrod's friend the "computer hacker".
