While it had its moments of charm, on a whole it was just too weird. And I usually like weird. Someone said it was self-consciously weird, and maybe that's the problem. When you try too hard -- to be cool, to be weird -- it all falls flat.
The character of Jarrod is a great example of this, as he tries so hard to be cool. But unfortunately, the whole movie tries too hard. So it all falls flat.
