Review of Eagle vs Shark (2007) by Steven C — 22 Jun 2009
Had "Napoleon Dynamite" never been made, I think I might've really enjoyed "Eagle vs Shark." However, deadpan romantic comedy has already been covered, even if this time its done with those delicious New Zealand accents.
There are some nice, very sweet moments here, but the lack of conflict creates a bit more apathy for the characters than they deserve. Some forced symbolism and awkward animated apples give it the "Indie" stamp but they don't help matters.
