Review of Eagle vs Shark (2007) by Private U — 20 Apr 2009
My first disappointment of the summer. I have looked forward to this movie for a while because of my love of Jemaine and Flight of the Conchords and the trailer really sold this movie to me. Sadly, this movie was just so quiet and too awkward and weird that I was never able to become affected by it and I sat silently as the movie kept imposing on how awkward these people are and how they should be together.
Lily was such a great girlfriend and a great person all-around but sadly I just never felt for her. Maybe if this movie was toned down a bit and the script was reworked a little, than some laughs and heart would come about.
One thing I did appreciate was the animated bits interspliced with the movie that simply and beautifully told a sideplot about apple cores. Trust me, that part was fun. I am unsure who to recommend this to, but it is probably a must-see for fans of the Conchords.
