Hilarious, awkward, and beautiful in places, this movie reminded me of why I love Australia/New Zealand films. It's like Canada with a sense of humour. The costumes and style are excellent, and it's got that stomach-clenching awkwardness that Napoleon Dynamite had.
Only this movie is funny. Sort of Wes Anderson meets Napoleon Dynamite, and they have a fight, and Wes Anderson wins. The only thing that I would complain about is that it seemed a little scared of the emotional moments, which Wes Anderson is a master of.
