Review of Eagle Eye (2008) by Philip S — 31 Dec 2010
"Enemy of the State" on steroids. Not sure how I felt about it, in the end. It starts of a little awkwardly with some family background, but soon picks up with some crazy chase scenes. All the while, though, I could not help but wonder why this crazy powerful "villain" would enlist two civilians.
The explanation is beyond silly, but at least Jerry's presence can be justified. But what the heck is Monaghan's "mom" character doing there? Of course, any movie THIS outrageous is going to have a slew of plausibility issues.
Not a terrible time-killer, but it would have been nice had it made a bit more sense. Solid cast, good performances, great chase sequences, but still not a winner.
