Review of Eagle Eye (2008) by Esteban G — 28 Dec 2011
Eagle Eye is you average action movie packed with crashes, good visual effects and ok acting. I was entertained during most of the movie but when it reached the climatic ending it was sort of a let down by trying to be the new 2001 Space Odyssey.
Shia Lebeouf also seems to be in every action movie nowadays, he is all right but it would be nice to see him in fewer movies or in a different kind of role although you have to give him credit for sticking to what he is good at.
The strange phone call and orders that were given to the two main characters was an interesting concept and had you thinking it was all about a terrorist attack but the movie takes off in an entirely different direction towards the end and if it were an original idea I would have to give the producers credit for it but it wasnâ??t.
The movie seemed to be a mixture of Die Hard 4 with Space Odyssey, without Bruce Willis and without the original and creative direction of Kubrick. I gave it 3 stars because the movie had me entertained during most of the movie and the action scenes were good.
