Review of Eagle Eye (2008) by Bryan N — 04 Jan 2012
After the success they had with Disturbia last year the team of Spielberg, LaBeouf, and Caruso re-team with Eagle Eye. This cyber story conceived by Spielberg definitely delivers a thrill a minute. The amount of action and chaos compiled in the film is enough to make you forget how ilogical most of it is.
Its almost on par with Live Free or Die Hard in terms of over the top and unrealistic action set pieces. The story itself though really lacks any clarity. Billy Bob Thornton looks bored out of his mind and I really thought his talent was wasted.
LaBeouf is growing as an actor in a role that required more acting than his previous works. The ending is COMPLETE CRAP though. I felt cheated as an audience member and the end really detracted from my overall experience.
But overall it was an edge of your seat film that is really a lot of fun to watch...
