Review of Eagle Eye (2008) by Daniel H — 06 Apr 2012
Too big to be ignored. It starts of good and interesting, but halfway through the movie it'll slap you with this big turn off, now if you manage to get past that, it will still be somewhat entertaining, theres one big devious and brilliant scene in this film, but theres also one big stupid hole in it, and I think thats what makes this movie such a tragedy.
Ive never really focused on Shia LaBeouf before (even on Transformers). I just got used to his comical role in Even Stevens (Disney) from back in the days, but after seeing this film, I have to say Im very impressed with his acting. Hes managed to grab my attention and I just hope that his future films will be way better than this.
Billy Bob Thornton plays the role of an FBI Agent in Eagle Eye, though his presence brings a little bit of something to the movie, it wasnt enough to save it. --- Actually, I think all the actors did a good job, its really just the story itself, it could've gotten better results if they had only added another element to it...
Well, if youre just hankering for some suspense or thrilling action you might like this, just remember to leave all logic out the door.
Film Story: 2.5 stars.
Entertainment level: 4 stars.
I'm not a huge fan of Shia's but when he and DJ Caruso are working on a film together, they do make magic. The premise and story was good and it is paced very well. But you do have to leave your brain at the door though before entering the theater or putting it into your dvd player.
