Review of Dying Young (1991) by Alex B — 08 Sep 2010
A moving and poignant movie that looks at a different and much more important kind of love seldom shown in films today: true love. This isn't some cheesy, sappy romantic comedy where every other line is a joke and the characters loathe each other then get together in the end. Unlike most romantic tales these days, which deal with infatuation, Dying Young tells a story of true love. Deep, moving, easy to understand and warm to feel. It is about two humans loving each other for everything they are. For their bodies, thoughts, passions, mistakes, imperfections, even their heart and soul. It is quiet, tender, yet strong and emotional, as is true love.
You brave enough to watch a REAL romantic movie? If you aren't, go back to your impractical, infatuation-filled and nauseating "rom-com".
For the rest of you: enjoy Dying Young.
