Review of Dying Young (1991) by Matthew F — 25 May 2005
Why You Should See This Movie:
For some reason, this movie got trashed by critics although I thought it was really pretty good. Roberts does a great job at creating her character and the film is very interesting from the get go. Maybe my favorite part of the film though is the direction and filming effects. The score is fabulous and the transitions between scenes filled with great shots of beautiful sunsets and landscapes. The plot?s premise is a good and interesting one that doesn?t completely take off after the introduction, but is interesting enough to help carry the film.
Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:.
This film is a very serious drama that I could see some people being very bothered by especially if they have lost someone close to them from Cancer. Other than the content, though, the rest of the film is pretty sound.
Conclusion:.
Dying Young is a great drama that takes on a pretty touchy subject respectfully and with decency that you should check out on DVD if you are interested in the genre.
