Review of Duplicity (2009) by Jeremy W — 02 Feb 2010
Not a review just my thoughts.
Duplicity is a long drama and it feels like it. The great performances by Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, and Paul Giamatti are the best part of this film. The story is well written and directed by Tony Gilroy, but it is so witty, it is almost to the point of confusing. Throughout I couldn't figure out who is working for who or why. I felt it jumped around so much I couldn't figure out when in time they were or what part of the story they were trying to explain. The story is so complex so I wont fill you in so I'll just say its about agents undercover back stabbing large companies. The movie is moderately intriguing but it couldn't completely reel me in. Overall I liked it but I wouldn't watch it again or really suggest it with all the other ones of similar style. Its a good film but a little to much confusion and twists for my taste.
Nominated for Golden Globe. Another 1 nomination.
