Review of Duplicity (2009) by J.d. B — 06 Feb 2013
Once you catch on to the style of the jumping narrative it can become quite labouring to watch, that said the twists and turns are for the most part quite clever. The tarmac scene is too self conscious and at times the movie plays with cheap humour - mind you the audience I saw it with lapped this up.
Owen and Roberts are a great team on screen and have an undeniable chemistry, and the twist at the end was refreshing for a film of this genre. Overall an entertaining film but one that left me somewhat unsatisfied - I suppose for a mainstream film it works.
