Review of Duplex (2003) by Grëg W — 29 Oct 2009
A decent and entertaining ben stiller/drew barrymore romantic comedy disaster movie. I say disaster movie because they live with an old woman who would be easier to describe as the most annoying person on the planet.
the young couple are trying to have a baby while also getting their respectable jobs done, stiller as a writer and barrymore as a magazine writer, but as far as the old lady is concerned, she must give them more hell than they need.
she goes as far as "accidentally" destroying stiller's novel and giving them reason enough to have them go to an assassin to have her killed. plenty of laughs are to be had, but overall the film is a little dull and lacking in character other than the main characters.
