Review of Duplex (2003) by Shiela E — 09 Oct 2011
I enjoyed this. it was a tricky feet to create a character who was outwardly a sweet old lady but annoying, maniupulative, and ultimately possessed of ulterior motives underneath, but they pulled it off.
the only sour note here was that alex and nancy did indeed overstep their bounds as landlords at times like the scene in which they attempted to show their party guests the apartment upstairs because they felt it was empty for the evening.
still, the progression from solicitous and kind toward mrs. connely, to being annoyed and then plotting ways to kill her seemed like a logical progression and didn't feel rushed at all. more importantly though, it was funny.
