Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Joey G — 25 Jun 2018
Pretty nice cinematography and realistic to some degree. But there's no story here. The film flips between the experiences of several different characters, none of which are particularly well-developed, in an effort to give a holistic view of the events at Dunkirk.
It just didn't do it for me. The airplane scenes dragged on for so long without anything significant happening. I must have spent half an hour staring at the pilot's face. There's a reason most great movies have a protagonist.
