Dunkirk was my best mate's favourite film of 2017. I find it difficult to understand exactly what drew him to this film so strongly. I find it difficult to say anything passionate about Dunkirk at all.
I think I arguably felt some tension in the earlier moments, and some of the shots were beautiful... I think? I honestly can't remember. Dunkirk washed over me in the least impactful way possible, and then, like the tide, it was gone.
