Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Darth T — 07 Feb 2018
Not a huge history buff, and certainly did not learned or remembered reading too much about the crucial rescue mission of the stranded soldiers on the beach of Dunkirk, but I watch a lot of war movies and it is brought up a lot in many of those period films.
So after watching Darkest Hour just the night before, this movie was especially moving and engaging, especially considering that it was based on true events. Had Hitler been less of an idiot pretending to be a great general and tactician, the incredible feat of rescuing all of those British soldiers and French forces from the beach of Dunkirk would have never been possible, and the world as we know it would certainly not be how it is now. A fantastic story powerfully executed.
