Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Maxson — 22 Jul 2017
I think Dunkirk might be the most intense film this year, and definitely Nolan's most intense work. The sound design is incredible, and the cinematography is beautiful and striking. When you go in to see this movie, don't expect it to be like Saving Private Ryan because that film focuses on the brutality of war.
Dunkirk focuses more on survival and desperation. Dunkirk is very different compared to other war movies in my opinion. This film will be a strong contender for the Oscars. Probably for Best Picture and Best Sound Mixing.
