Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Bob A — 12 Aug 2017
This film does a nice job showing the utter chaos that happens during the rescue British rescue of the British army. There could have been a better job in my opinion by adding more key dialogue. The film falls short on giving any hint of the French contribution and casualties while defending 7 German divisions in order to allow the evacuation in late May through early June 1940.
The scene at the end of the movie that showed an RAF Spitfire gliding and shooting down a Luftwaffe aircraft then landing on the beach was pure Hollywood creativity and not reality.
