Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Isaac K — 03 Jan 2018
An absolutely stunning film detailing the Dunkirk evacuations. Honestly it was the most realistic and tense war film I've ever seen. The director didn't feel the need to over dramatize explosions or keep us on the edge of our seats with aerial acrobatics.
He simply let the amazing history speak for itself. Never once do you see a Nazi's face during the entire film, but you are constantly tense. I have no reservations about calling this film a modern masterpiece.
