Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Jack M — 01 Aug 2017
Christopher Nolan continues to present himself as one of cinemas greatest geniuses. By propelling the audience into the battlefield you really do feel like you're surrounded by the chaos on screen.
The score by Hans Zimmer is equally impressive, with it's ticking and loud sound design it makes the experience feel like a horrific nightmare but in a good way. While it may not allow certain characters to have much screen time and minimal dialogue which could alienate certain viewers, the movie has a sense of heart-beating dread and atmosphere that will truly stay in the mind for some time after viewing.
I encourage you to watch it on the biggest screen possible and just soak it all in.
