Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Cole S — 22 Jul 2017
Dunkirk was the film we needed to revive the age of real filming. Filmed in 70mm, Dunkirk engulfs the audience into one of the darkest times for the British and French in the history of WWII. With the constant ticking throughout the film (representing the passing time) as well as the purring of the 70mm film projector creates a sensation between the mind and ears that will keep audiences deep into the film from start to finish. Director, writer, and producer Christopher Nolan reveals to us one of his greatest films of all time.
Casting many rising stars as well as well-known actors creates a mix of characters that suits the film perfectly (nice marketing choice by casting Harry Styles btw).
Revealing to America and the rest of the world one of the most famous/dreadful times of WWII in British history, and putting the event to justice in Great Britain, Dunkirk serves as one of the most anticipated and qualified war movies of our time.
