A monumental picture that puts you in the heart of the Dunkirk evacuation. Technically brilliant with awesome cinematography, a stirring score and razor sharp direction. Don't worry about the lack of human back stories as this is more about a portrayal of the British nation coming together in its darkest period.
The emotional pull is very much there as I was a blubbering wreck when the little boats arrive and with the playing of the rousing Nimrod towards the end. A tale of survival not just for the unnamed soldiers but for a nation.
