Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Phillip S — 21 Jul 2017
Wow, what a disappointment. If you're expecting another Saving Private Ryan think again. Difficult to understand dialog, cowardly soldiers, no historical background, complete disconnect in day and night scenes and no historical summary at the end. I think one of the funniest scenes is where the Naval Officer gets a tear in his eye after seeing the 10 or 12 civilian boats approaching....really?...History recorded that hundreds of boats and ships were used in the evacuation.
I really wish I had waited till this came out on Pay For View but the previews looked great.....
Best scenes were the air battles....great Spitfire dogfights...except, the lone pilot at the end that ran out of fuel....why didn't he land by the troops that were being evacuated instead of near the German troops?...or at least crash into them and take a few of the bastards with him....
Not a very good movie at all....
