Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Robert B — 22 Jul 2017
While I do believe this is Nolan's best movie to date, it's not necessarily my favorite. This is an achievement in filmmaking, especially in today's world. Very little dialogue is spoken, little to no character development is given, and almost nothing is explained to the audience.
Instead, he takes us through a story told visually in such a compelling and unique way. With Hans Zimmer's pounding score and a thunderous sound design, he transports us right in the event of Dunkirk that deservers to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
