Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Sam S — 17 Jul 2017
Saw Dunkirk earlier today in an advanced screening.
Exceptionally well made movie. If you expected goods from Nolan, he doesn't disappoint with Dunkirk. Many of you might be wanting to see this for months now and the wait is over and worth it.
The evac operation from Dunkirk is well told and filmed by Chris Nolan and the movie is non stop action of sea and air battle.
It has good cast but apart from Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and to some extent Fionn Whitehead with some memorable scenes, the real hero of this movie is the story and filming itself. Not a character heavy movie and very less dialogue.
The action scenes and filming is phenomenal.
I saw it on IMAX and well worth seeing it in IMAX. The bombs and shelling and air attacks are great on the IMAX screen and sound.
Best War movie since Saving Private Ryan and best movie I've seen so far this year.
