Review of Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God (2005) by Michael J — 19 Dec 2007
Yes, yes, yes, I am a Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) player and have been since the game started out as pamphlets. So you already know that I will be critical of anything with the D&D label.
The first thing to note is that this sequel is far better than the original D&D movie. Why is this, well because there was a party adventure happening and plot. This movie felt like watching a campaign unfold and not all players, err characters, survive to the end. The characters were portrayed true to the D&D world. I really appreciated how spells were handled and how, as a player, I was able to recognize them (kind of comforting). Like the first movie the dragons are well done and all newly introduced (at least in movie media) creatures were true to their form in the game.
I recommend this movie to any D&D fan who felt let down after watching the first movie â?? this movie is worth the rental fee.
