Review of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) by Cathy D — 26 Dec 2008
Some good moments but all together fluff.
All things considered this isn't bad per say.
It's hokey and somewhat overly dramatized but I found it hard to turn away even though by the middle of it I could guess pretty much what was going to take place.
The comedy of Marlon Wayons helps push this as it could have spelt doom if him and his counterpart hadn't exchanged the odd blurb or two. But,im guessing this was the directors idea of combining humour with drama while trying to make some kind of decent movie, either way it worked.
Justin Whalin also helped pull this off, really good actor and of course Jeremy Irons as the awful (awfully)horrible wizard.
I do have a soft spot for this genre though so that pretty much sums it up then....:).
