If you're patient then this is a solid foundation for the potential franchise. However this movie takes a very long time to go anywhere and it is confusing to follow if you didn't read the books. Also, an hour and a half in you realize all anyone has done is talked.
..there's one training action scene for 30 seconds. I think the pacing, and clarity needs work. But there is so much here, for sure. Worth seeing. A visual treat.
