Review of Dune (2021) by Redmotor4 — 24 Oct 2021
Where to start. Feels like one long commercial for the book. The acting (these days) is wooden, over the top and boring. Cast choices are odd including putting Momoa in there. Acts like he just walked in from the surf on a California beach.
The music isn't great compared to David Lynch's movie score. Some of the concept designs are great but some just look silly (the dragonfly ships). I also fail to see how it's better than David Lynch's movie.
That movie had good acting, suspense and above all it was filmed with 35mm film. That is what a movie is. The CGI while great in some spots looks cheap in other parts of the movie. Worth a rental but real fans of the book should dismiss it.
This is just another example of a modern movie making mess. The film industry has no where to go and they've let political correctness and too much technology take over.
