First act is okay, but it kinda falls apart after a while. I haven't seen the short, but I can imagine this plot would work much better in that format; expanding it requires adding a lot of elements that just become very ridiculous.
At the technical level, I found the sound design and music overbearing, with an unnatural mix, and clunky foley, and the photography was muddy and colourless, despite the best efforts of Mr. Doyle. Not sure what happened here, I heard good things about Fruit Chan.
