Review of Dumbo (2019) by Viniciussawate — 30 Mar 2019
The visual spectacle wins the Dumbo experience once and for all. The entire construction of the circus, that is, the differentiation between decadent experience proposed by Max Medici and the grandeur of Dreamland Vandevere take the viewer to embark on the ring behind the scenes and exciting showtime.
As a consequence, they not only create a beautiful setting, with their colors and choreographies, but also give weight to the experiences of the characters. So, more than embarking on empty nostalgia, Tim Burton justifies why it was interesting to revisit Dumbo almost 80 years later.
In a time of such intolerance, it is important to remember that, amidst the banal cretinity of the norm, there is a magic in the different. And it's always good to celebrate it.
